Robert graduated from the University of Victoria in 1986 with a Juris Doctor in Law. He had the privilege and good fortune to join a small boutique law firm in Vancouver, BC by the name of Doust and Smith. He worked with the best criminal and civil litigators in Vancouver.

After a number of years, Doust and Smith merged with the largest law firm in Canada, McCarthy Tetrault, where Robert was exposed to the complete gamut of corporate, family and civil litigation while continuing to sharpen his skills as a criminal defence lawyer. In 1992, he returned to the University of British Columbia to work on a Masters in Law.

While in school, Robert continued as a sole practitioner providing criminal defence work in Vancouver. In 1994, lured by the Island lifestyle, he moved to Comox and set up shop in Courtenay. For 17 years he has provided top-notch litigation representation in the valley.

After literally hundreds of trials, Robert has had great success in Provincial Court, Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal in his career. Robert is now offering his litigation, trial success and expertise to include family law, civil and personal injury/accident claims.
